Technical Product Engineering Lead (Embedded Systems)

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States; primarily office-based with intermittent remote and hybrid work as mission requirements allow. Ability to work on-site in Arlington is required. Travel of approximately 10–15% may be required for customer engagement and field testing.

Salary: $189,353–$245,000 USD annualized.

What you will do

• Own the technical vision, system architecture, roadmap, and design decisions for a hardware security product.
• Lead engineering across hardware, FPGA, embedded firmware, and software disciplines.
• Plan schedules, prioritize technical work, balance resources, and drive execution.
• Mentor and manage engineers, providing technical guidance, feedback, and career development support.
• Transition proof-of-concept technologies into reliable, field-ready operational solutions.
• Develop unit, integration, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and engage with transition partners and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience as a technical lead, architect, or similar engineering leadership role across hardware, FPGA, or software disciplines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience with two or more of Python, C, C++, Embedded C, Rust, and Go.
• Strong Embedded Linux experience, including Yocto-based build systems, plus experience working with FPGA and hardware teams.
• Experience with testing, CI/CD pipelines, virtual machine test ranges, networking equipment, NICs, switches, PCIe, and Ethernet.
• Active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Experience shipping and iterating production software used by customers.
• Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Familiarity with NIAP, CSfC, or other validation and certification frameworks.
• Experience directly managing, mentoring, and advancing engineering teams.
