What you will do

• Lead the full lifecycle of data science and machine learning models from experimentation to production deployment.
• Manage day-to-day team operations, ensuring prioritization, unblocking challenges, and maintaining high delivery standards.
• Define and champion best practices for modeling, code quality, and experimentation frameworks.
• Collaborate with MLOps and cross-functional teams to align on standards and share knowledge across the organization.
• Provide mentorship, performance management, and career development for direct reports.
• Represent the team in leadership forums and translate business needs into technical briefs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on data science experience with direct production deployment history.
• 4+ years of experience managing a team of data scientists, including hiring and performance management.
• Proficiency in Python and comfort reviewing code and pipeline logic.
• Strong understanding of MLOps tooling (e.g., MLflow, Vertex AI, Databricks) and ML engineering practices.
• Experience with cloud-based ML platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing.
• Must be based in Canada.
