What you will do

• Review and approve 3D models and 2D drawings for enclosures and bus structures.
• Manage mechanical design documentation and enforce organizational standards.
• Support production builds and resolve fit/assembly issues quickly.
• Lead root-cause analysis for ECRs and RMAs to implement corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop internal design capabilities.
• Identify automation opportunities for repetitive CAD tasks and champion process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
• Must be located in or able to work onsite in Columbia, SC.
• US work authorization required (Sponsorship not available).

Nice to have

• Experience with electromechanical products like industrial cabinets or switchboards.
• Familiarity with UL standards (UL 891, 1558, 67, 857, 1008).
• Experience with iLogic-driven templates, BOM governance, and PDM tools such as Vault.
• Knowledge of VAVE initiatives for cost reduction and manufacturability improvements.
