What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and designers to sustain the existing product portfolio.
• Coordinate and monitor work to ensure project scope, schedule, and quality goals are met.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECR/ECN) and drive the design review process.
• Facilitate DFMEA sessions, derive DVPR, and develop comprehensive test plans and reports.
• Collaborate with specialized vendors to perform manufacturing analysis and optimize designs.
• Define project scope and allocate resources to meet business objectives.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work onsite in Hanover Park, IL
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8 to 12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, design, and analysis, preferably in the water or food service industry.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
• Experience designing components for mass production (injection molding, casting, extrusion, sheet metal).
• Strong expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions for field issues.

Nice to have

• Understanding of New Product Development (NPD) processes.
• Knowledge of Fluid Dynamics and integration of pneumatic/electromechanical components.
• Experience with sealing design and actuation mechanisms.
