Senior Solution Architect (API): Designing and owning the solution architecture for the API Lab portfolio to enable enterprise-scale API management within a major financial group with an accent on scalability, security, and developer-centric ecosystems. Focus on defining strategic roadmaps, driving architectural consistency across GCP and cloud-native platforms, and optimizing API lifecycle management.
Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh); must spend at least two days per week (40% of time) at the Edinburgh office site

What you will do
- Define and own the solution architecture across the API Lab portfolio.
- Develop strategic architecture roadmaps aligned with business priorities and enterprise technology strategy.
- Drive architectural consistency across multiple products, teams, and engineering domains.
- Influence platform-wide decisions and shape long-term investment priorities and technology direction.
- Promote modern engineering practices and cloud-native design principles.
- Partner with Product Owners and Engineering Leads to align strategy, architecture, and delivery.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Solution Architecture within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven track record delivering complex platform and digital transformation initiatives.
- Deep expertise in enterprise API ecosystems, operating models, and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of Architecture & Design frameworks such as TOGAF and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Practical experience with GCP, Harness, Apigee, KONG, and Developer Portals.
- Experience influencing senior business and technology stakeholders.
