What you will do

• Build backend services and APIs for onboarding, accounts, payments, cards, transfers, rewards, and FX flows.
• Design reliable systems to support real customer transactions and operational workflows.
• Integrate internal systems with financial partners, payment providers, AI services, and third-party platforms.
• Own backend quality regarding reliability, security, latency, observability, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to launch features quickly and safely.
• Simplify existing flows and automate repeatable processes to improve system efficiency.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience in production systems.
• Deep understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, authorization, queues, and event-driven integrations.
• Experience building services at a meaningful scale for real customers or internal operations.
• Strong mindset for debugging, security, and data quality.
• Must be based in Portugal.
• Strong English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in Fintech, payments, banking, wallets, KYC, fraud, or risk management.
