Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Location: Remote from Brazil

Company

Building LATAM domestic payment rails and integrations with fiat payment providers.

What you will do

• Design and build production-grade backend microservices and APIs in Go.
• Implement resilient fallback and routing logic across payment providers, including feature-flagged rollouts and safe rollback paths.
• Integrate fraud detection, onboarding, and KYC flows to support compliant and observable transactions.
• Create technical design documents, break work into forward-compatible increments, and track dependencies.
• Design secure, reliable, auditable systems with strong observability and operational workflows.
• Improve backend engineering standards through code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong backend engineering expertise with Go.
• Experience building production-grade APIs and distributed systems with event-driven or webhook-based third-party integrations.
• Understanding of reliability, security, and auditability for money-movement or transactional systems.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, reverse-engineer existing flows, and design for parallel delivery.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern engineering workflows, including containers, relational databases, and streaming or messaging systems.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating payment providers and payment rails, including redundancy, failover, and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with PIX, Brazilian payments, Central Bank regulatory requirements, and virtual accounts.
• Experience with KYC/KYB, AML, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, or fraud and risk tooling.
• Experience with crypto, stablecoins, or Web3 infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS, ECS Fargate, Aurora/PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Kubernetes, or Terraform; Spanish language skills are also useful.
