VP of Design (Fintech)

What you will do

• Own design performance metrics including conversion, drop-off rates, and app store ratings.
• Lead, develop, and scale a remote team of Product and UX/UI Designers.
• Govern the Xapo Design System and track adoption across mobile, web, and backend features.
• Operationalize user discovery by setting a minimum cadence for usability testing per release.
• Partner with Product Groups to reduce friction in onboarding and payment flows.
• Establish a governed framework for AI-assisted design and personalization in collaboration with CISO and AI teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years in design, including 4+ years at Director/VP level in a regulated digital bank, high-scale fintech, or crypto/web3 platform.
• Demonstrable history of moving specific product metrics (conversion, NPS/CSAT) through design changes.
• Expert portfolio of native iOS and Android designs shipped at scale with strict platform compliance.
• Proven experience building and governing component-driven design systems across multiple teams.
• Experience shipping complex, high-stakes flows such as wealth management tools and KYC setups.
• Quantitative fluency to defend design decisions using telemetry and funnel data.
