Focus on developing installation SOPs/MOPs, managing vendor relationships for BOMs, and implementing New Product Introduction (NPI) for connectivity infrastructure.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in San Francisco or San Jose, CA; presence required 4 days per week)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Physical Infrastructure Cabling Standards (PICS), including Basis of Design specifications and operational SOP/MOP documentation.
• Act as the primary subject-matter expert for HPC Architecture, Hardware, and Network Engineering teams.
• Manage relationships with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure supply chain continuity and quality assurance of detailed BOMs.
• Drive the development, qualification, and implementation of new connectivity products into production (NPI).
• Provide technical guidance for cabling infrastructure specifications in new data center builds and conduct site visits.
• Perform QC/QA on installations to ensure adherence to PICS best practices across global deployments.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data center cabling infrastructure engineering and physical layer design.
• Deep knowledge of fiber-optic and copper cabling systems, termination methods, and high-density interconnect solutions.
• Hands-on experience developing installation standards for hyperscale or large enterprise environments.
• Proficiency in reading and creating technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam.
• Strong vendor, OEM, and supply chain engagement experience.
• Familiarity with industry standards including TIA/EIA, BICSI, and IEC.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/HPC cluster architectures and GPU-dense deployments.
• Background in NPI, qualification testing, or component engineering.
• Industry certifications such as RCDD, DCDC, or CFHP.
• Experience with optical test equipment and fiber QA workflows.
