What you will do

• Provide strategic, commercially pragmatic advice on employment law matters in APAC.
• Advise on day-to-day employment matters including performance management, exits, investigations, and regulatory issues.
• Partner with People, Total Rewards, and Finance teams to support Canva’s growth and workforce model.
• Support the development and implementation of scalable employment frameworks, policies, and processes.
• Identify and manage employment-related legal risks while enabling operational objectives.
• Collaborate with global Employment Legal colleagues on cross-border matters and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in Australia or an equivalent jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of post-qualification experience specializing in employment law in a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
• Experience working across multiple jurisdictions or in a multinational environment.
• Strong ability to advise senior stakeholders on complex employment and employee relations matters.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial and people considerations.
• Must be based in Sydney.
