What you will do
- Conduct end-to-end development of quantum algorithm prototypes and proof-of-concept opto-electronic subsystems.
- Design, build, and characterize laboratory experiments to translate experimental data into refined models.
- Develop calibrated sensor models for quantum accelerometers, gravimeters, magnetometers, and optical clock timing.
- Implement and benchmark quantum algorithms for molecular modeling, materials discovery, and machine learning tasks.
- Author technical reports and proposals for customers, partners, and senior management.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to internal training and best practice methodologies.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance are strictly required.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Electrical/Optical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in quantum algorithm development and/or quantum optical system research.
- Demonstrable ability to work independently within a distributed team environment.
- Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
Nice to have
- Deep knowledge of quantum programming frameworks such as Qiskit, Cirq, or Braket.
- Hands-on expertise with laser stabilization, nonlinear optics, and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs).
- Proficiency with modeling tools including MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, and optical system design software.
- A proven record of contributing to peer-reviewed papers, patents, or successful research proposals.
