What you will do

• Execute molecular biology and biochemistry experiments at the bench under senior guidance.
• Maintain mammalian and bacterial cell lines, reagent inventories, and materials stocks.
• Document experimental protocols with precision and contribute to shared research records.
• Troubleshoot experiments and propose adjustments to improve results.
• Present findings clearly during group meetings and collaborate with the research team.
• Adopt new laboratory techniques rapidly as research projects evolve.

Requirements

• Hands-on research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Proficiency with foundational techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, and molecular cloning.
• Experience with aseptic technique and bacterial or mammalian cell culture.
• Ability to follow, document, and adapt experimental protocols with care.
• Must be based in or able to work from the San Francisco office.
• Motivation to learn and apply AI tools to assist in experimental planning and data interpretation.

Nice to have

• BS or MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
• Experience with protein expression and purification.
• Knowledge of enzyme kinetics or biochemical assay development.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics workflows and sequence analysis software.
• Experience using AI tools like Claude for research tasks.
