What you will do

• Develop and test GN&C algorithms using MATLAB and Simulink.
• Collaborate with NASA civil servants to refine flight software requirements.
• Review simulation results from 6 DOF analysis tools.
• Update orbital mechanics models and author technical documentation.
• Integrate new trajectory optimization algorithms into flight software.
• Present analysis findings to the project team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with at least 1 year of experience.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency.
• Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Experience with GN&C algorithms, orbital mechanics, and 6 DOF simulations.
• Proficiency in Linux, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and C/C++.
• Experience with Git/GitLab and space system requirements development.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Experience with safety-critical, human-rated embedded software development.
• Familiarity with NASA/JSC standard practices and simulation architectures like Trick or JEOD.
• Experience with spacecraft rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking.
