Development Specialist (AI)

What you will do

• Research, draft, edit, and track grant proposals, letters of inquiry, one-pagers, and other fundraising materials.
• Prepare accurate grant reports and donor communications while collecting and packaging impact stories and data.
• Research prospects and funders, prepare meeting briefings, and coordinate relationship-stewardship follow-ups.
• Partner with the VP of Growth on annual and multi-year fundraising plans that support revenue growth and financial sustainability.
• Improve development processes, pipeline tracking, metrics, and Salesforce funding-partner records.
• Collaborate with Communications and Marketing on donor-facing materials and support special events and projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in development, fundraising, or investor relations; 4–5 years preferred.
• Strong grant writing and proposal development experience, including successful fundraising materials.
• Experience preparing grant reports and donor communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, proofreading, copyediting, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Readiness to adopt agentic AI and LLM-powered tools for proposals, RFPs, and funder-network organization.
• Interest in civic engagement, democratic participation, or community organizing, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Background in journalism, creative writing, public relations, copywriting, or storytelling.
• Design awareness and experience bringing copy to life visually.
• Salesforce or comparable CRM experience.
• Experience in event planning, public programming, or brand activation.
