Salary: $95,000 - $165,000 USD

What you will do

• Develop and own the Laser Bed Powder Fusion process and thermoplastic 3D printing workflows from the ground up.
• Collaborate with design engineering to drive Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) and perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Establish standard operating procedures for printer calibration, maintenance, and production quality.
• Develop qualification tests and inspection criteria to ensure high print quality and material property consistency.
• Troubleshoot non-conformances on the factory floor to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in CNC machining, programming, and fixture design to support R&D and production needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, physics, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of professional experience in additive manufacturing, specifically metal (Laser Bed Powder Fusion).
• 1+ years of experience in CNC machining, including 5-axis mills.
• Highly competent in GD&T and technical drawing reviews.
• Must be onsite 5 days a week in San Francisco.
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant STEM field.
• Experience with advanced post-processing like annealing or Hot Isostatic Pressing.
• Hands-on experience as a Machinist programming and running 5-axis parts.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers to qualify processes.
• Familiarity with MES/MRP systems in a production environment.
