Spacecraft Vehicle Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and sustaining end-to-end spacecraft manufacturing processes for satellite bus programs with an accent on AI&T build sequences, tooling strategies, and production methodologies. Focus on bridging design, manufacturing, test, and quality to ensure scalable, compliant, and efficient spacecraft production.
Location: Must be based in San Jose, California (Onsite)
Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 per year

What you will do
- Develop and maintain spacecraft-level manufacturing plans, including build sequences and work instructions.
- Design assembly fixtures and production support equipment using CAD.
- Implement production methodologies and optimize integration flows to maximize efficiency.
- Perform DFM/DFA analysis and ensure design compatibility with production constraints.
- Lead Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and resolve technical or quality issues using root cause analysis.
- Interface with cross-functional teams including Design, Test, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship, legal permanent resident status, or protected person status required due to export control regulations.
- 5–15 years of experience in aerospace or space manufacturing and complex electromechanical system integration.
- Deep knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and precision measurement techniques.
- Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems and CAPA methodologies.
- Hands-on experience supporting production floor activities in cleanroom environments.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and inspection data.
Nice to have
- MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience scaling hardware from prototype through rate manufacturing.
- Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Experience with PLM/MES systems and digital manufacturing workflows.
- Leadership experience mentoring engineers in a high-growth environment.
