What you will do

• Own the full design and development lifecycle of consumer products from first sketch through launch.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to determine system performance and manage technical tradeoffs.
• Lead brainstorming and build rough prototypes to stress-test designs through iterative experimentation.
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers, co-ops, and interns to elevate the team's technical bar.
• Translate CAD files into final, mass-produced consumer products.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing physical products.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience with hands-on prototyping, including 3D printing and machining.
• Ability to analyze test data using Excel, Minitab, or MATLAB.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Needham, MA.

Nice to have

• Experience building test plans that directly influence design decisions.
• Background working at a consumer products company or consulting firm.
• Familiarity with electronics components such as sensors, motors, heaters, and PCBAs.
