Senior Software Engineer (Applied AI)

Location: London, UK. Applicants must have and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment. The role may require occasional work outside standard business hours for client time zones and up to 15% travel to client sites.

What you will do

• Build AI-powered agents and tools from client discovery and rapid prototyping through evaluation and production deployment.
• Design LLM integrations using prompt engineering, function calling, structured outputs, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
• Define evaluation criteria and build test harnesses for AI systems with ambiguous, domain-specific correctness requirements.
• Work directly with clients and domain experts to understand workflows, validate AI behavior, and iterate toward production quality.
• Partner with core engineering teams to turn client-specific solutions into product features and contribute to shared AI infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain production AI systems with attention to reliability, cost, and performance.

Requirements

• Extensive professional software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Python, LLM APIs, function calling, and structured outputs.
• Comfort with SQL for data exploration and data-grounded AI workflows.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar products.
• Experience taking a project from zero to one, from prototype through production, with a strong focus on client outcomes.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic systems, multi-step tool use, agent orchestration, or durable workflows.
• Experience with Java or other backend languages.
• Familiarity with financial data such as portfolios, transactions, securities, or accounting.
• Exposure to AWS, container-based deployments, and AI evaluation frameworks.
