Senior Platform Engineer (Data Infrastructure)

Senior Platform Engineer (Data Infrastructure): Designing and improving the data backbone including Kafka, ClickHouse, and MongoDB on AWS with an accent on resilience, elasticity, and self-service automation. Location: Hybrid in Madrid, Spain

Salary: €65,000 – €80,000 gross per year

What you will do

• Design and improve cloud-native data infrastructure across multiple AWS regions.
• Develop automation and self-service tooling using Crossplane for provisioning and scaling.
• Implement and manage new data stores, including search, vector, and in-memory databases.
• Collaborate with product and feature teams to align platform capabilities with user needs.
• Establish disaster recovery plans with defined RPO and RTO targets.
• Monitor system performance and availability using Datadog and handle end-to-end incident resolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software, DevOps, Platform, or SRE.
• Proficiency in AWS across multiple regions using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Docker in production environments.
• Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python.
• English proficiency is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Kafka (AWS MSK) and distributed streaming systems.
• Expertise in managing database clusters like Amazon Aurora, ClickHouse, or MongoDB.
• Experience building internal developer platforms.
• Knowledge of OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Redis, or ElastiCache.
• Exposure to disaster recovery and cross-region replication.
