Application Engineer (Data Center Hardware): Owning the electrical power integration surface between AI hardware and customer data centers with an accent on rack-level power distribution, redundancy, and installation procedures. Location: Remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Bay Area, CA. Periodic travel to customer sites and Ann Arbor, MI is required.
Salary: $175,000–$235,000 base compensation.

What you will do
- Design and validate rack-level power distribution, redundancy, and sequencing configurations.
- Build and test complete rack configurations in the lab prior to customer deployment.
- Develop and own precise installation checklists and procedures for field teams.
- Execute on-site installations and sign off on electrical power integration.
- Debug complex rack-level issues spanning power, thermal, and mechanical domains.
- Coordinate with customer network engineering teams to align power integration with existing topologies.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in data center network engineering, electrical power systems, or rack-level infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Deep knowledge of rack-level networking (switching, VLANs, configuration).
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution (PDUs, power shelves, redundancy).
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools like TOR switch CLIs, SSH, Wireshark, and DCIM software.
- Must be based in the United States and willing to travel periodically for site visits.
Nice to have
- Experience with out-of-band management interfaces like IPMI, Redfish, or iDRAC.
- Familiarity with thermal and mechanical integration considerations.
- Prior experience creating field installation documentation.
- Background in customer-facing or field-deployment engineering roles.
