Team Lead - Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Remote for candidates physically located in or around Midland/Odessa, Texas. The role includes office and field work, approximately 15–25% travel, and occasional work beyond 40 hours per week as required.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of engineers, drafters, designers, and technicians supporting oil and gas clients.
• Coordinate electrical engineering scopes and ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality project deliverables.
• Plan resources, assign work, and manage project backlog, utilization, budgets, margins, and scope expectations.
• Review designs, submittals, reports, change orders, and technical documents for quality and compliance with client requirements.
• Support business development through proposals, marketing activities, client updates, and Seller-Doer responsibilities.
• Mentor and coach team members, develop individualized growth plans, and provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power option is preferred.
• At least 5 years of engineering or relevant field experience.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
• Applicants must physically live within the Midland/Odessa, Texas area.
• Strong technical, written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, and independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to develop staff through mentoring and coaching and to work effectively with limited information in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Previous leadership experience in a consulting organization.
• Experience with PSSE, PSCAD, PLSCADD, ETAP, or SKM.
• Experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot.
• Oil and gas power engineering experience, contract and rate experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Professional Engineer license.
