TL;DR

Postdoctoral Fellow (Human Genetics): Developing and applying novel statistical and computational methods for rare coding variant association in neurodegenerative disease with an accent on Parkinson’s and ALS research. Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to South San Francisco, California

Salary: $110,000–$120,000

What you will do

• Lead computational analysis of large-scale whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing data.
• Develop and apply methods integrating protein structural information to map disease-associated variant hotspots.
• Build calibrated variant effect models combining multiple lines of molecular evidence.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including human genetics, computational biology, and experimental neuroscience.
• Publish scientific or methodological papers in top-tier journals.

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong scientific publication record.
• Demonstrated competence in R or Python for statistical or bioinformatics analyses.
• Experience working with large-scale genomic data such as whole-exome or whole-genome sequencing.
• Ability to present complex results clearly to diverse audiences.
• Must be able to work onsite in South San Francisco.
