Data Center Technician 3 (Data Center)

What you will do

• Provide proactive customer support through phone, email, face-to-face communication, and case management systems.
• Complete customer installations, capacity checks, testing, order closeouts, and remote hands requests.
• Install and manage Ethernet, SONET, dark fiber, copper, coaxial, CAT 5/6, and other network cabling.
• Monitor business-critical infrastructure, alarms, power systems, building management systems, and security systems; escalate issues when required.
• Manage tickets, outages, changes, compliance activities, vendor maintenance, inventory, timesheets, and customer metered-power reporting.
• Conduct security walkthroughs, manage visitor access and escorts, support customer and auditor tours, and maintain facility readiness and cleanliness.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a related college degree is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience or demonstrated ability to perform the listed data center responsibilities.
• Previous NOC, SOC, IOC, or data center experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems, basic hardware troubleshooting, switches, firewalls, managed storage, and network cabling.
• Strong written and verbal communication, dependability, independent judgment, and ability to follow escalation procedures.
• Reliable transportation and ability to lift at least 50 pounds are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DS1, DS3, Ethernet, and fiber circuits.
• Familiarity with replacing hard drives, memory, and motherboards.
