TL;DR
Senior Data Center Technician (AI/HPC): Maintaining and optimizing high-density data center infrastructure for AI/HPC clusters with an accent on advanced hardware diagnostics, network remediation, and operational reliability. Focus on resolving GPU and InfiniBand issues, leading root-cause investigations, improving operational procedures, and responding to critical facility and infrastructure incidents.

Location: Onsite in Columbus, Georgia, United States

Salary: $76,000–$94,000 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

  • Lead advanced diagnostics and resolve complex AI/HPC hardware issues, including GPU kernel hangs and interconnect anomalies.
  • Act as the primary technical authority for complex hardware and network incidents in the client ticketing system.
  • Improve workflows, document operating strategies, and refine standard operating procedures.
  • Guide and mentor junior technicians on ticket resolution, physical interventions, and safety protocols.
  • Lead risk assessments and root-cause analyses for recurring hardware or facility failures.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineering teams and vendors to maintain cluster health, manage RMA escalations, and meet SLA requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a data center technician or in a comparable complex IT infrastructure environment.
  • Advanced experience installing, monitoring, and maintaining high-density data center equipment in AI/HPC environments.
  • Strong independent analysis, technical judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience assessing infrastructure risks, implementing corrective actions, and driving process improvements.
  • Excellent English communication skills for explaining technical guidance, risks, and strategies.
  • Ability to work onsite in Columbus, Georgia, including after-hours support and an on-call rotation.

  • NCA-AIIO, CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network, or CCNP certification.
