TL;DR
Software Engineer (Embedded Controls): Developing diagnostic and prognostic algorithms for high-voltage battery systems with an accent on mechatronic controls and embedded software implementation. Focus on designing technical solutions, performing functional decomposition, and verifying software functionality using automated test tools in a hybrid environment.
Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to Milford, Michigan. This role is hybrid and requires reporting to the office at least 3 times a week.

What you will do
- Develop and implement software technical solutions for thermal runaway propagation diagnostics.
- Perform functional decomposition, analysis, and testing of embedded control strategies.
- Utilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality.
- Document design requirements and link them to test cases.
- Collaborate within an Agile team to share best practices and participate in software planning events.
- Maintain and improve software for mechatronic controls and controller communication.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field.
- 2-5 years of professional engineering experience.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
- Knowledge of Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS, and GIT.
- Experience with sub-system integration, design, and testing.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience with AUTOSAR standards and methodology.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, ARXML, or Ethernet.
- Experience with JIRA and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Knowledge of bootloaders, embedded operating systems, and diagnostics.
