Senior Staff Software Engineer - Cloud Platform (AWS)

Salary: $183,500–$232,500 per year, plus eligibility for an incentive compensation plan

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable, production-grade backend services and distributed systems running on AWS.
• Define cloud platform architecture, infrastructure patterns, operational standards, and technical direction.
• Develop Node.js and other backend services, owning the lifecycle from design through deployment and production support.
• Design infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and manage the full infrastructure lifecycle.
• Build frontend applications with React and MUI and contribute to React Native mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Set engineering standards, evaluate technologies, respond to incidents, and make build-versus-buy recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with cloud-based distributed systems at scale.
• Deep production expertise with Node.js, React, MUI, AWS, and AWS CDK.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, cloud-native design, IP networking, and TCP/IP.
• High proficiency across backend, frontend, infrastructure, deployment, and production operations.
• Strong architectural judgment, problem-solving, communication, and independent decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-volume, real-time cloud platforms, IoT, device-integrated systems, or data-intensive workloads.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments, infrastructure automation, performance tuning, observability, and operational excellence.
• Experience working in small, high-performance, flat engineering teams.
