What you will do

  • Liaise with insurers, policyholders, and brokers to progress allocated disease claims.
  • Investigate claims from the desk or refer to a field adjuster for site investigations where appropriate.
  • Obtain evidence and documentation, review policy wording, and determine appropriate actions for case resolution.
  • Prepare detailed reports with advice on policy indemnity, policy response, and recommendations.
  • Negotiate settlements within agreed authority limits and correspond professionally with all parties to reach conclusion.
  • Maintain proper reserves through regular review and stay updated on technical changes relevant to the role.

Requirements

  • Experience handling short and long-tail disease claims (e.g., asbestos, NIHL, HAVS, asthma, COPD, silicosis, dermatitis, stress, RSI, cancer, back injury).
  • Knowledge of policy wording, insurance market practices, and legal principles/regulations/Acts relevant to disease claims.
  • Ability to value disease claims and understanding of reserving philosophies.
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal.
  • Strong communication, customer service, planning, and organisational skills; ability to work in a team and manage own workload.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to demonstrate adaptability and flexibility.
