TL;DR
IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer (Windows/VMware): Supporting technical infrastructure and developer workstations for the Development Tools IT Team with an accent on server administration, virtualization, and network security. Focus on solving complex 3rd line support issues, improving vulnerability remediation, and managing hypervisor migrations.
Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in the Bristol office

What you will do
- Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex 2nd and 3rd line support tickets.
- Administer Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Manage VMware and Proxmox hypervisors, including building and maintaining virtual machines.
- Troubleshoot networking issues involving VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Drive vulnerability remediation and patching using tools like KACE, Qualys, and Domo.
- Monitor system health via Zabbix and manage backup processes using Commvault.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior 2nd/3rd line infrastructure or systems support role.
- Deep expertise in Windows 11 and Windows Server administration.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and core networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with VMware administration and VM lifecycle management.
- Ability to work from the Bristol office 3 days per week.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to support highly technical developer users.
Nice to have
- Experience with Linux or macOS administration.
- Familiarity with Juniper switching and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with CrowdStrike, Tanium, or Perforce.
- PowerShell scripting or general automation skills.
- ITIL certification or knowledge.
