Staff Product Designer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base pay: $195,000–$255,000 per year in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT; $173,000–$233,000 per year in all other U.S. states.

What you will do

• Lead AI and agentic design initiatives for Affirm’s consumer experience.
• Design conversational and proactive interaction patterns for agentic products.
• Build a hybrid search and discovery interface combining traditional UI efficiency with AI-powered discovery.
• Define a trusted, clear, and predictable design language for AI-driven consumer interactions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data science, marketing, and research teams.
• Use prototyping, experimentation, research, and analytics to refine scalable product experiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing AI-driven, agentic, or conversational user interfaces.
• Proficiency in prototyping non-linear, multimodal user flows.
• Strong understanding of human-centered AI principles, including trust, transparency, feedback, and explainability.
• Experience designing complex, high-stakes consumer financial products.
• 8+ years of product design experience, including solving complex problems and shipping new products.
• Strong product sense, visual and interaction design skills, data-informed decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration.
