TL;DR

Portfolio Risk Manager (Fintech): Designing and owning the end-to-end credit risk framework for a new business line in Mexico with an accent on credit origination policy, limit setting, and portfolio growth. Focus on building risk metrics from scratch, performing complex cohort analysis and stress-testing, and leading a team of risk analysts.

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Mexico (Hybrid or Onsite)

Fintech company launching a new business line in Mexico focused on challenging the status quo of incumbent finances.

What you will do

  • Design credit origination policy, limit setting, pricing guardrails, and collections feedback loops from scratch.
  • Manage risk appetite, maintain live dashboards, and analyze drivers of metric changes.
  • Perform advanced portfolio analytics, including segmentation, stress-testing, and vintage tracking.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, fostering a data-driven culture.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed risk controls in product specifications and customer journeys.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in product or credit risk management for retail or consumer lending (banking or fintech).
  • Strong understanding of scorecard design, ML techniques, and alternative data for credit decisioning.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or R with hands-on data experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and setting OKRs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • English: B1 level or higher required for communication with an international team.

Nice to have

  • MBA or CFA certification.
