Director, Value Engineering (Automotive): Leading the Automotive Value Engineering team to improve product value and overall profitability with an accent on standardization of Value Analysis methods and pipeline generation. Focus on identifying and hardening value improvement measures, risk mitigation, and developing a value-conscious product mindset across the division.

Location: Hybrid; must be based in or be able to work from an office in Budapest, Hungary or Garching, Germany

Salary: €138,550 - €179,300 annual gross

What you will do

• Create vision, mission, and strategy for Value Engineering activities and metrics.
• Standardize Value Analysis methods and tools globally across the automotive division.
• Define and implement value improvement ideation and pipeline generation methodologies.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation, and technical/commercial feasibility checks for improvement measures.
• Coach and upskill cross-functional teams to create a value-conscious product mindset.
• Oversee the quality of measured data and the infrastructure used to track and monitor VM initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering or Economics.
• Minimum 15 years of experience managing global direct reports or leading cross-functional teams in engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Value Management methodologies and processes.
• Technical competency in electronic products (electrical, mechanical, semiconductor components).
• Proven experience in best-in-class procurement processes and familiarity with the automotive global supply base.
• English: C1+ required (excellent written and verbal communication skills).

Nice to have

• Experience specifically with automotive electronics.
• Proficiency in German and/or Chinese languages.
