Senior Payroll Consultant (Defined Benefits)

What you will do

• Load complex and large annuitant schemes onto administration systems.
• Manage buy-in payments and true-up calculations accurately and on time.
• Ensure benefits and payments align with benefit specifications.
• Check and sign off member correspondence prepared by colleagues.
• Test and document processes, maintaining a complete audit trail.
• Support and train less experienced colleagues while communicating updates to internal teams and third parties.

Requirements

• Pension qualification such as CII or PMI, or equivalent experience.
• Payroll qualification such as CPP, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of defined benefit pension schemes and relevant legislation, including GDPR and Treating Customers Fairly.
• Experience loading data and benefits into administration systems.
• Confidence working with data in Excel and using a range of functions.
• Ability to prioritise and plan across tasks and projects, with strong communication and customer-focused skills.
