Machine Learning Engineer (Energy Optimization) (ML and energy systems): Building forecasting, optimization, and decision systems that control heat pumps, batteries, solar energy, tariffs, weather, and customer behaviour with an accent on productionising reliable customer-facing models. Focus on deploying and monitoring models, running experiments on real customer systems, and designing constrained optimization and flexibility capabilities for residential energy fleets.
Location: Stockholm HQ, hybrid

What you will do
- Build and improve machine learning and optimization models for customer-facing energy optimization features.
- Develop time-series forecasting, scheduling, and decision models for heat pumps, batteries, solar, tariffs, weather, and customer behaviour.
- Own models end to end, including evaluation, deployment, monitoring, reliability, and iteration based on real-world outcomes.
- Run experiments on customer systems, evaluate impact, and translate results into product decisions.
- Contribute from discovery through production, defining success metrics and aligning with Product, Engineering, Design, and other stakeholders.
- Explain trade-offs, uncertainty, model behaviour, and release decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Experience building machine learning, data, or optimization systems used in real-world products.
- Strong Python programming skills and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience taking models beyond notebooks through evaluation, testing, deployment, or monitoring.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Comfort working with ambiguous, imperfect, and changing real-world data.
- Pragmatic, product-oriented mindset with clear communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with energy systems, electricity markets, demand response, or flexibility.
- Experience with constrained optimization, control systems, or physical systems modelling.
