Senior Product Manager (Data Platform)

TL;DR

Senior Product Manager (Data Platform): Leading the strategy and roadmap for Wattpad's data platform and product intelligence capabilities with an accent on transforming raw product events into reusable data products and decision-ready insights. Focus on building scalable foundations for personalization, recommendations, and product decisioning while establishing trusted metrics and governance practices across the organization.

Location: Must be based in the Greater Toronto Area and able to work 3x per week from the Toronto office.

What you will do

• Define the vision and long-term strategy for the data and product intelligence platform.
• Develop and prioritize the roadmap for reusable data products, insights layers, and decisioning services.
• Partner with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science to create scalable foundations for personalization and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Content teams to transform story metadata and behavioral signals into reusable capabilities.
• Establish trusted metrics, shared data definitions, and governance practices to improve consistency.
• Balance long-term platform investments with near-term business priorities to maximize impact.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Product Management experience, specifically with platform, infrastructure, developer, AI, or data products.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures including event pipelines, warehouses, semantic layers, and feature stores.
• Proven experience defining product strategy across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to identify reusable platform capabilities.
• Experience with modern product analytics and experimentation platforms like Amplitude or Mixpanel.
• Must be located in the Greater Toronto Area and able to work on-site 3 days per week.
