What you will do

• Define and own the strategic architecture of the data platform, setting technical direction for scalable and governed infrastructure.
• Lead the design and implementation of next-generation data pipelines, data models, and platform capabilities.
• Establish and champion company-wide standards for data quality, governance, security, and compliance.
• Partner with engineering, product, and data science stakeholders to align platform capabilities with organizational goals.
• Identify systemic bottlenecks and drive improvements in performance, reliability, and developer productivity.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers and influence technical roadmaps and hiring decisions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering with a track record of large-scale platform initiatives.
• Proven experience at a staff or principal level influencing architecture beyond a single team.
• Deep expertise in modern cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Expert-level proficiency in workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Dagster.
• Strong programming background in Python, Scala, or Java for data processing and automation.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational, columnar, and NoSQL database systems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as FHIR or HL7.
• Experience with data mesh or data lakehouse patterns.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
