Lab Technician (Medtech)

Location: Onsite clinical laboratory work; alternative morning, midday, and evening shifts may include weekends.

Salary: $23–$24 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Handle and process clinical DNA specimens using manual and automated laboratory methods.
• Perform test analysis, maintain records, and report results to laboratory leads and managers.
• Document quality-control activities, calibrations, reagent preparation, testing, and instrument maintenance.
• Identify test-performance problems, take authorized corrective actions, and document outcomes.
• Perform proficiency testing consistently with patient testing and meet workload targets with high accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, laboratory science, chemistry, physical science, or biological science.
• Must meet CLIA, CAP, and New York State CLEP personnel standards.
• Professional-level mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills.
• Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand, sit, use hands for laboratory work, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to work around biohazardous body fluids, hazardous chemicals, water, noise, and extended stationary computer work.
