Intern - Molecular Genetics and Genomics (Medtech)

Location: Durham or Burlington, North Carolina, United States. In-person, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.

Pay: $17.75–$22 per hour.

What you will do

• Shadow laboratory professionals and learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
• Support approved molecular genetics and genomics laboratory projects.
• Follow laboratory safety, compliance, and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in an 11-week, full-time internship from June 1 through August 13, 2027.
• Take part in enterprise learning, leadership sessions, mentoring, and an in-person intern event.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• Interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures.
• Eagerness to learn laboratory skills and scientific concepts.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision, communicate effectively, and maintain professional conduct.

Nice to have

• Rising junior or senior status, with expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029.
