TL;DR

Principal Design Technologist (AI): Designing the end-to-end experience of an Agentic platform for patients, clients, and AI agents with an accent on agentic interaction patterns and code-based prototyping. Focus on establishing design systems, creating high-fidelity prototypes in React/Angular, and defining transparent human-in-the-loop AI workflows.

Location: Remote (US). Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Required first week onsite at an office in Tennessee (travel expenses paid).

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end experience design for the Agentic platform, defining personas and workflows for patients, enterprise clients, operators, developers, and AI agents.
• Build high-fidelity, code-based prototypes and demos using modern frontend frameworks to turn requirements into testable experiences.
• Establish, document, and steward the platform's design principles and a shared design system, including reusable component libraries and design tokens.
• Collaborate with technology and product leaders to shape platform strategy and optimize the developer experience (DX) for APIs and SDKs.
• Define how AI and agent behavior surfaces to users to ensure transparency and trust, including human-in-the-loop and escalation patterns.
• Provide product design support and refine existing user-facing surfaces to evolve client and patient experiences.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• 10+ years of experience in product design or design technology, with a track record of shipping B2B2C SaaS products.
• Hands-on ability to build interactive prototypes in code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript with React or Angular.
• Experience designing AI-powered, data-driven, or agentic user experiences (e.g., LLM-driven interfaces).
• Deep expertise in design-system architecture and design tokens.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction across senior stakeholders and translate between design and engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience designing for healthcare or other regulated industries (HIPAA/PHI).
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design.
• Familiarity with Storybook or shadcn-style component registries.
• Degree in a related field.
