What you will do

• Architect and define the token architecture, component structure, and theming model for the design system.
• Establish governance standards, documentation, and contribution models to ensure system coherence.
• Partner closely with frontend engineers to ensure faithful and effective implementation of design components.
• Elevate visual and interaction craft, including motion and micro-interaction details across all surfaces.
• Drive system adoption by building artifacts and relationships that encourage consistent usage across teams.
• Evolve from design system ownership into leading design for specific product areas as the foundation matures.

Requirements

• Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area
• 6+ years of experience in product design with strong UX judgment and interaction pattern expertise.
• Exceptional visual design skills with a trained eye for typography, color, layout, and motion.
• Proven experience architecting and governing design systems at scale.
• Ability to articulate design decisions and defend them with principled reasoning.
• Technical fluency with the ability to review code and bridge the gap between design and implementation.
