Central Team Leader - Benefits

What you will do

• Lead the Benefits Team through vision-setting, coaching, pastoral care, performance expectations, and individualized growth plans.
• Develop and implement a multi-year benefits strategy covering health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, supplemental programs, and leave.
• Oversee benefits administration, plan performance reviews, vendor relationships, invoicing, funding strategy, and budget accuracy.
• Maintain coordination between benefits programs, payroll, HRIS, Finance, Human Resources, legal counsel, and external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state benefits regulations across 12 states, including ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and state mandates.
• Oversee accessible benefits education and communications for staff, using feedback and utilization data to improve content.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience in employee benefits, HR, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of employee benefits design, administration, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, process management, and project management skills.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to build trust with staff, vendors, and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Ability to work on-site in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience with a self-funded health plan environment.
• CEBS, CBP, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification.
