Junior Software Developer (Java): Developing and maintaining high-performance Java microservice web applications for a critical microservice ecosystem with an accent on system design and solving complex software engineering challenges. Focus on building scalable web applications that support the Computer Network Operations (CNO) mission and integrating with modern distributed systems.

Location: Onsite in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. All applicants must currently reside in the United States and possess an active TS/SCI with FSP clearance.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-performance Java microservice web applications within a modern, distributed ecosystem.
• Collaborate with Technical Leads to make key architectural decisions and shape the product roadmap.
• Interact directly with customers and operators daily to troubleshoot issues and propose innovative features.
• Support end-to-end testing, continuous integration, and deployment of production-ready applications.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with FSP clearance is mandatory.
• Must currently reside in the United States.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or 7+ years of experience without a degree.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java design, debugging, and complex problem-solving.
• Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful web applications using Spring Boot.
• Experience interacting with MongoDB or similar NoSQL/relational database technologies.
• Practical experience writing and executing automated tests to ensure code reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience with UI development using Vue.js.
• Experience working with Apache Kafka for real-time data pipelines.
• Familiarity with automated build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
