Senior DevOps Engineer (Storage Platforms)

Location: United States. Fully remote for candidates residing outside a 30-mile radius of a hirify.global office; hybrid for candidates within that radius, requiring three office days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Base salary: $90,700–$252,200 USD per year, excluding potential bonuses, stock, and other incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Deploy, automate, and operate large-scale Software Defined Storage architectures across private and public cloud regions.
• Deploy and support enterprise storage platforms including Pure Storage, HPE, NetApp, Ceph, and Longhorn.
• Integrate self-service storage workflows for Kubernetes CSI and OpenStack consumers across virtual machine and bare-metal environments.
• Build Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps workflows using Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Git, Python, and Bash.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, observability, backup workflows, patching, upgrades, testing, and rollback procedures.
• Perform deep troubleshooting, incident response, root cause analysis, documentation, and on-call support for mission-critical platforms.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience managing enterprise storage and Kubernetes platforms on Linux.
• Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and Linux systems, including Ubuntu and RHEL/CentOS.
• Hands-on experience with Software Defined Storage, including Ceph and Longhorn, and storage migrations from legacy systems.
• Expertise in block, file, and object storage; Fibre Channel; NVMe-oF or iSCSI; backup technologies; and KVM hypervisors including Suse Harvester and OpenStack.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, plus proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience, with strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Nice to have

• OpenStack Cinder multi-backend administration and Rubrik backup platform experience.
• Knowledge of CIS/NIST security practices, infrastructure lifecycle management, and ITIL methodology.
• Experience in telecommunications, edge cloud, or large enterprise environments.
• CKA, CKS, Ceph Storage Administrator, ITIL, or related certifications.
• Master’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field.
