What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of automation service engineers to ensure continuous laboratory support across production shifts.
• Oversee routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of laboratory equipment, including robotics and control systems.
• Manage the design, installation, and integration of new automated systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
• Collaborate with operations, R&D, and quality control teams to optimize throughput and efficiency.
• Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and equipment parts inventory.
• Monitor system KPIs and provide data-driven reports to senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, or a related scientific discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, specifically high-throughput molecular biology systems.
• Extensive knowledge of robotics, PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or diagnostics environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO, or CLIA.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Molecular Biology techniques, including next generation sequencing.
• Experience in troubleshooting complex scripts.
• Experience with data science or data engineering in an automated laboratory environment.
