What you will do

• Independently assess assay and operational processes to identify gaps and risks through data analysis and operator feedback.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable laboratory processes that meet regulatory, safety, and business requirements.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives including technology transfer, system validation, and operational process optimization.
• Collaborate with Software and Automation Engineering to define requirements, test cases, and release validation for laboratory systems.
• Author and oversee execution of complex validation protocols, study designs, and qualification plans aligned with CAP, CLIA, and ISO standards.
• Monitor operational outcomes through KPI data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Boulder, CO.
• Advanced degree in molecular biology, engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of laboratory experience including R&D protocol design, clinical LDT assay development, and high-complexity testing.
• Hands-on experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) and DNA/RNA molecular biology.
• Proven track record in technology transfer, laboratory system development, or process engineering.
• Strong understanding of quality and regulatory standards including ISO13485/15189, CAP, CLIA, and NYSDOH.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification.
• PhD or ASCP/CGMBS certification.
• Experience with agile-scrum methodology.
