UX Strategist (Web Applications)

TL;DR

UX Strategist (Web Applications): Designing and shaping intuitive, data-driven experiences for product web application implementations with an accent on UX strategy, user research, and interface design. Focus on translating complex mission needs into simple digital experiences and ensuring operational readiness for warfighters and analysts.

Location: Remote (US). Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance and may be required to work in person at facilities in MacDill AFB, FL or Washington, DC.

Salary: $77,500 – $176,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end experience strategy, including user research, journey mapping, and workflow analysis.
• Design high-quality user interfaces, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction models for operational web applications.
• Translate complex mission or analytical concepts into simple, intuitive digital experiences.
• Collaborate across product and engineering teams to ensure design decisions align with customer goals and operational readiness.
• Implement information architecture and interaction design based on design systems.
• Ensure usability and accessibility by adhering to Section 508 and WCAG standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in UX strategy, user research, or UI/UX design.
• Experience designing data-heavy, mission-focused web applications.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
• Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, and usability best practices.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice to have

• Experience working with Department of War customers.
• Experience in Agile environments working with product managers and engineers.
• Ability to build or contribute to scalable design systems.
• Knowledge of research synthesis methods like persona development and ecosystem mapping.
