Senior HSE Process Engineer (Waste-to-X)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with home office possible 2 days a week

Salary: €53,000 gross per year minimum, with final compensation based on level, skills, experience, and qualifications

What you will do

• Audit operations and inspect plants as an independent HSE authority.
• Ensure projects implement risk-assessment outcomes from HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ATEX, and DSEAR activities.
• Evaluate multidisciplinary engineering designs using 3D models, P&IDs, and layout assessments.
• Develop global programs supporting plant reliability, operational integrity, and asset maintainability.
• Manage start-up risks, investigate major incidents, and track corporate assurance programs.
• Provide trend analyses, incident reports, performance metrics, training, and lessons learned to strengthen safety culture across sites.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industrial HSE experience, including independent auditing of renewable gas or waste-to-X plants.
• Practical knowledge of HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ATEX, and DSEAR regulations and risk assessments.
• Experience assessing multidisciplinary engineering designs, start-up risks, asset reliability, and major incidents.
• Fluent English required; Italian is an advantage.
