What you will do

• Assess enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, WAN, wireless, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Identify operational and cybersecurity risks while evaluating existing environment documentation.
• Produce comprehensive network topology diagrams, hardware inventories, and operational runbooks.
• Develop an executive-ready 12–24 month network modernization roadmap and findings report.
• Implement approved infrastructure improvements and provide technical mentorship to staff.
• Coordinate with vendors and provide weekly progress reporting to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of senior enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, WAN, wireless, firewall, and VPN technologies.
• Proven ability to independently assess and document poorly documented enterprise environments.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills for communicating with executives.
• Must be based in or able to work hybridly in St. Louis, MO.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or Meraki.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and network segmentation.
• Background in municipal or public-sector IT environments.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring platforms and structured change management.
