Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid schedule with four days in the office.

Salary: $154,275–$199,650 base salary annually, plus possible incentive compensation and equity programs.

What you will do

• Prototype, train, deploy, and monitor machine learning models for order book analysis, alert detection, and sequential financial data.
• Develop and operate production AI agent systems and LLM-based software workflows.
• Own ML training and deployment infrastructure on Snowflake.
• Build production-quality data pipelines processing terabytes of daily financial market data.
• Develop explainability and process-compliance solutions for AI and ML systems.
• Provide architecture guidance, code reviews, mentorship, documentation, and collaboration across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• Production machine learning experience with time-series or sequential data, including model training, deployment, and monitoring at scale.
• Deep learning experience with temporal or representation problems, such as sequence models or time-series embeddings.
• Five or more years of software engineering experience, primarily with Python, plus version control, automated testing, CI/CD, Docker, and enterprise cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with PyTorch, custom training loops, distributed multi-GPU ML, and experiment tracking.
• Experience building production applications with LLM APIs, agent orchestration, and coding agents.
• Knowledge of TCNs, transformers, time-contrastive learning, ARIMA, scikit-learn, anomaly detection, or weakly supervised clustering.
