Systems & Electrical Engineer - Human Spaceflight & Microgravity (m/f/d)

Location: Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany; hybrid work and mobile work abroad are available.

What you will do

• Support proposal activities and prepare programmatic and technical documentation.
• Translate scientific requirements into research instruments and facilities in collaboration with scientific partners and space agencies.
• Develop electrical architectures and subsystem designs across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Perform requirements analysis, design, verification, and assembly, integration, and testing activities.
• Support manufacturing, assembly, and test campaigns involving spaceflight hardware.
• Prepare and support missions, including ground control operations, anomaly investigation and recovery, mission data processing, launch-site activities, and campaign travel.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
• Experience in PCB development.
• Good understanding of Linux-based operating systems and software source code in C and Python.
• Initial project engineering experience, preferably in the space sector or another process-driven industry such as automotive.
• Excellent communication skills in English and German.
• Broad technical curiosity, cross-disciplinary working ability, and comfort with structured, hands-on engineering work.
