Electrical and Functional AIT Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Munich, Germany; the role is based in the Ottobrunn area and requires willingness to travel and work in shifts during test campaigns.

What you will do

• Define and execute electrical and functional tests for optical sub-systems and payloads.
• Define and procure auxiliary test equipment, including test harnesses, breakout boxes, and electrical adapters.
• Create test procedures, perform tests, assess results, and carry out crimping activities.
• Analyze test events and correlate them with possible root causes while developing pragmatic solutions under time pressure.
• Coordinate with project teams on test strategies that balance quality, schedule, and cost.
• Support non-conformance investigations and manage tooling and test infrastructure in line with quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
• Detailed specialized knowledge of Python and experience with network architecture management.
• At least one of TCL or CCS5, or Elisa/OpenCenter, is mandatory.
• Experience with functional and electrical AIT for optical sub-systems, including detector and laser sub-systems.
• Experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or IA and knowledge of ECSS space standards.
• German C1 and English C1 are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Bash, MySQL, and Git.
• Experience in the aerospace sector.
